Board Job Descriptions

President:

The President shall serve as the presiding officer of the Association, a member of the Executive Committee, and shall officially represent the Association on the Boards and/or governing bodies with which the Association may choose to affiliate. The President must have been a member of IACCA for at least four years, must have attended at least three IACCA Conferences, and must have some prior volunteer experience with IACCA.

President-Elect:

The President-Elect shall serve as a member of the Executive Committee and shall also serve in the absence of the president. The President-Elect shall also assume responsibilities as assigned by the Board. The President-Elect must have been a member of IACCA for at least four years, must have attended at least three IACCA Conferences, and must have some prior volunteer experience with IACCA.

Vice President:

The Vice President shall chair the Program Planning Committee for the Annual Conference and shall serve in the absence of both the President and the President- Elect. The Vice President shall also assume responsibilities as assigned by the Board. The Vice President must have been a member of IACCA for at least four years and must have attended at least three IACCA Conferences.

Vice President-Elect:

The Vice-President Elect shall serve on the Program Planning Committee for the Annual Conference and shall assume other responsibilities assigned by the Board. The Vice President must have been a member of IACCA for at least four years and must have attended at least three IACCA Conferences.

Secretary-Treasurer:

The Secretary-Treasurer shall be responsible for maintaining the minutes and records of the Association and shall also assume responsibilities as assigned by the Board. The Secretary-Treasurer, or the Secretary-Treasurer’s delegated representative, shall collect the dues, disperse the funds upon approval of the Board, prepare the budget, make regular reports, and cause an audit of the funds to be completed at the end of each fiscal year. The Secretary/Treasurer must have been a member of IACCA for at least three years and must have at least two years of professional fiscal management experience.

Communications Chair:

Organizes and oversees organizational communications through various media including the website, social media, electronic publications, and other means. In cooperation with the certification committee, arranges for the publication and distribution of educational materials produced in relationship with the Certification process. Provides monthly report at Board conference call and a written report to the full membership at the Annual Meeting.

Chair of Membership Committee

Provides vision, inspiration, leadership, encouragement and oversight for the work of the membership committee and the board of directors with regard to the recruitment and retention of members. Ensures that membership policies and procedures are followed, including those that relate to the Life Membership category. Schedules and leads meetings of the membership committee. Provides monthly committee report at Board conference call and a written report to the full membership at the Annual Meeting.
