The Communications Committee Chair is responsible for providing leadership for IACCA's internal communications
The Communications Committee Chair is elected by the membership for a term. Up to two consecutive terms may be served The Chair will confer with the President in the selection of committee members.
The Communications Committee Chair reports to the President.
Serves on the IACCA Board of Directors.
Provides vision, inspiration, leadership, encouragement and oversight for the work of the communications committee and the board of directors with regard to the communications efforts of IACCA.
Recruits, leads and oversees the members and work of the communications committee.
Schedules and leads meetings of the communications committee.
Organizes and oversees organizational communications through various media including the website, social media, electronic publications, and other means.
In cooperation with the certification committee, arranges for the publication and distribution of educational materials produced in relationship with the Certification process.
Provides monthly report at Board conference call and a written report to the full membership at the Annual Meeting.
Member in good standing of the International Association of Conference Center Administrators.
Certified Conference Center Professional or currently pursuing certification.
Background/experience in communication or related field.
Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills.
Available to travel to attend two Board of Directors meetings annually (fall meeting at Annual Conference and spring meeting location TBD) and to participate in monthly Board conference calls (non-conference travel paid by IACCA).
Able to spend an average of 4-6 hours/month on IACCA business.
