Sign up today for two outstanding courses being offered just before this years annual conference. 

Courses are open to everyone. For students in the IACCA certification program, each course counts towards certification.

Beginning Saturday Oct. 20

Administration Fundamentals

A course specifically designed for persons new to conference center administration who are new or aspiring directors. Basic best practices from the IACCA body of knowledge will be presented.

Instructors:

Rev. Jack Shitama, CCCP 

Jack is the Executive Director of Pecometh Camp & Retreat Ministries where he has served since 2000. He is an ordained elder in The United Methodist Church and has served as pastor of churches in Port Deposit, MD and Chesapeake City, MD. He serves on the Peninsula-Delaware Conference Vision Team and was a clergy delegate to the 2012 General and Jurisdictional Conferences. He served as President of the International Association of Conference Center Administrators from 2003-2007.


Beginning Sunday, October 22 at 9 AM

Facility Development & Maintenance

This course meets the requirements of one of the six areas of knowledge required forcertification. The course includes specific best practices for conference center administration.

Instructors:

Rex Miller, CCCP 

Rex was Executive Director of Camp Alexander Mack in Milford, Indiana from 2002 to 2014. During that time he led the camp through a major infrastructure upgrade as well as a recovery from a major fire in 2011. He led the board through a transition from an Administrative Governing Board to a Carver Model Policy Board. He has served as an interim Facility Director for the Cal-Pac Conference of the UMC for 2 years. He continues to serve as a consultant to camps and conference centers as he volunteers on work cams and Heifer Ranch. He has been a member of IACCA since 1992 and has served on the board and led workshops on finance and facility management. 

Wynne Wyman 

Wynne is a former camp director and administrator, and author of Outdoor Site and Facility Management: Tools for Creating Memorable Places along with Lodgepole(maintenance and planning software).
